Schoolboy Q Album Release!

TDE has just announced their upcoming release roster for 2016 and it seems very promising. Native LA rapper Schoolboy Q is up first on the list with his album already in its sample clearance stage. As a member of the pivotal group Black Hippy along with Kendrick Lamar and Jay Rock he gave us tracks like “Rolling Stone” and “Top Dawg Cypha.”
His last album, Oxymoron, brought maximum heat with tracks like “Collard Greens” and “Man of the Year.” That was two years ago. Q has since been touring and honing his craft alongside his Black Hippy crew and other artists such as ASAP Rocky and Mac Miller. This release is well overdue and fans are ready. We can almost hear the slow groovy beats with gritty rhymes and hard hitting punchlines over smooth baselines already. Schoolboy-Q’s content speaks to a generation of kids who grew up listening to hip hop and knowing nothing but the art, his music contains gangbangin’, politics, women, and weed – stories from the streets. When this album is released every 90’s kid will be on an introspective chill, contemplating ways to change their situation and the world. – Robert Vickens
