FUTURE “EVOL” WITH CAM NEWTON
LOS ANGELES – This weekend marks another milestone for rapper Future. Not only has he wowed fans by dropping an epic new mixtape titled EVOL but he also has a SuperBowl commercial slated with Cam Newton promoting Beats by Dre headphones. The major commercial features Carolina Panthers Quarterback Cam Newton gearing up for the game while listening to the intro to Future’s new mixtape. For a 30 second shot it speaks volumes!
Future has been known to release droves of music over the past year and his latest release does not disappoint. It comes as no surprise that the artist preserves his slowed down sound emphasized with touches of auto-tune. As a nice change of pace we are given a new side to Future’s persona. He takes us on a ride over hypnotic beats with hard hitting high hats straight into the depths of his life, revealing facets of relationships, faith, and fame. What’s even more interesting is the fact that it has only been a few weeks since the release of Purple Reign (his last mixtape) and DJ Khaled will be debuting EVOL on Apple iTunes. As Future continues to drop more gems his talent shines brighter than the chains that hang from his neck and we are allowed a front row seat to watch this artist evolve into the very future of Hip-Hop – creativity in motion. With deals from Apple, Beats by Dre, and the SuperBowl coming as a deadly trifecta in the wake of EVOL’s release, only time will tell what Future has in store for us next. —Robert Vickens
