Why the name Lo’key tha Y.G?
The name Lo’Key came from being more of a listener than a speaker. Lo’key was a natural at entertaining and growing up in a talented musical family meant that Lo’Key Tha YG was always surrounded by different genre’s of music. Lo’key mother was a female rapper and performer aka “Miz Tasti”, along with growing up around uncles like recording artist “Kokane”, “Cold 187um of Above the Law”, “Deeg Won”, “Keesee”, “Mo Bounce” & “Young Lexo”. From an early age Lo’Key would study the work of various rap artists such as Kurupt & Daz Dillenger, Brotha Lynch, Scarface, 2 pac, Snoop Dogg, DMX, Mausburg, Jayo Felony, Ice Cube, and Tray Deee, and was able to emulate great artist vocal and rap styles, It was inevitable that Lo’key would have a dream to seek a career as a rapper/songwriter as well as a live performer.
This edgy & insightful young man is clear on his views of life as a twenty-two year old, and staying real and in touch with what’s going on in the world, as well as his peers. Lo’key Tha YG music and song writing will confirm that he is the “real deal”and here to stay.
