You may have recently seen Kristine Mirelle on TV Show “X-Factor”. If not, no worries because we got our west coast recording songstress right here for you, check out her bio and her new song titled “Counting Stars”.
I guess the more correct term for this section would be “Autobiography” since I am writing it myself 🙂 Anyways, here’s a little about me! I started taking piano lessons when I was four years old. I spent the first few years of my life in Lovington, NM and then was raised in little ol’ Roswell, NM into my adulthood. I grew up on the outskirts of town and there wasn’t a whole lot to do so I just played the piano all day and night. I’d like to think that I got decently good at it so when I was 17 years old I recorded my first album in my boyfriend’s closet. It was about as glamorous as recording in a closet could be. My music “career” began when I started selling my music door to door in neighborhoods around New Mexico. At 18, I packed up and started selling my music in Albuquerque and then all over the country. I’d stand in front of people’s homes and sing my little heart out. I’d say a good 9 times out of 10 people said no… but the small amount of people that said “yes” kept my dream alive of creating a career out of music. I didn’t have another job so if people didn’t buy my CD’s, I was out of luck. The little I made allowed for Motel 6 to become my hotel of choice (or friend’s couches) and McDonald’s $1 menu had become my best friend. Fast forward to a few years later and I signed to Upstairs Records, where I had a single called “Let Go” and “Candy” that got radio play in the Southwest United States and created a following in Japan of all places. I got my first taste of being on the road when I traveled the west coast with my label for a radio tour interviewing in stations like KISS FM and POWER 106 in LA. It was pretty amazing to hear my music being played on a level that I’d never heard before. Music has been an integral part of my personal growth. Independently I’ve managed to travel and perform in six continents around the world. I also started volunteering in different countries all because of music. My first experience was in Africa where I had one of the best times of my life. I felt really lucky to be able to combine music and traveling with helping the community. Currently I still perform and volunteer overseas, and it has proven to be one of the most rewarding parts of this journey. My music has been ever evolving and I feel comfortable in knowing that each year I feel more excited about continuing to create new songs. I would describe my current style as a “pop/soul” type feel would say that I am definitely inspired by the music of the 60’s. I’m currently working on a new album and have two new singles on ITUNES called “Over and Over” and “Temporary High”. You can also find the music video to both of these songs on youtube. 🙂 I now live in Hollywood and I perform 6-7 days a week in different places around the city. In the last 15 months, I’ve been so lucky to have performed in more than 400 shows around LA and I’m pretty excited to say that none of those shows took place on anyone’s doorsteps. I wouldn’t say I miss those moments when I was only 18 years old although sometimes I miss the looks of confusion on people’s faces when a singing girl was on the other side of their door.
